Welcome to the online communication base for the New Zealand Branch of the Royal Marines Association.

The Royal Marines history in New Zealand began with the first landing on the 9th of November 1769, just east of the Taranganui River, by Mercury Bay. They presented Arms as the Union Flag was hoisted and the first link in the chain between the Royal Marines and New Zealand was welded. The full history is on this site.

Our branch has undergone something of a renaissance over the last few years or so and our membership has increased considerably, currently standing at approximately 90. We have recruited a number of relatively younger members and also a number of guys who have transferred to the New Zealand Defence Force.

We meet at the Point Chevalier RSA in Auckland  For details of times and dates please contact me.  For previous meetings minutes see our Meeting Minutes page. Our Corps Birthday Church Service and Luncheon is the highlight of our year. This year it is being held at the Birkenhead RSA in Auckland on Sunday 26th of October.

Kia ora,

We would be delighted to meet up with visitors to New Zealand from the Corps past and present. Please contact me, our Treasurer Rob, or any one of our Office Bearers

Yours Aye,

Peter Collins, Major Royal Marines (Retired) President, New Zealand Branch, Royal Marines Association
